Division / Job Summary
The Division of Health & Exercise Science invites applications for two (2) full-time, tenure-track Assistant Professor positions in Community Health. We seek one candidate with strong skills in epidemiology, quantitative research, infectious disease prevention and/or injury prevention, and one candidate with a focus on programs, services or policies to improve quality, utilization and/or access to health care services in the United States. Successful candidates will join a dynamic, student-centered, and collegial division with 10 other tenure-track faculty and several non-tenure track faculty.
The teaching load is three courses per term, and the candidates will teach courses relevant to the Community Health degree program such as theory of health promotion, health disparities, environmental and occupational health, health communication, health navigation, epidemiology, health promotion program planning and seminars/courses in the applicants’ specialty areas. Engaging in high-impact educational practice, regular public health scholarship and providing meaningful service to the division, university and profession is expected.
We are not considering candidates who require Visa sponsorship support. Additionally, the university typically only considers visa support for employees placed in specialized positions that are continuing regular university appointments.
Earned Doctorate (Ph.D. or Dr. P.H.) in public health, health promotion or health education is required (ABD considered if degree requirements are completed prior to September 16, 2020. Candidates holding a M.P.H. degree in addition to an earned doctorate in a closely related field will be considered.
Preference will be given to candidates with an established record of successful teaching and scholarship.
