Reporting Relationship President and CEO - OU Medicine
& Executive Dean - OU College of Medicine
The Chief Physician Executive will spearhead transformational initiatives that align all providers of care in order to enhance clinical quality outcomes, improve patient safety, establish organization-wide best practices, improve cost effectiveness of care and prepare the organization for value based contracting and reimbursement.
With a dual reporting relationship to the CEO of OU Medicine and the Executive Dean of OU College of Medicine/President OU Physicians, the CPE will coordinate and facilitate the development of a Provider Platform, that combines the resources of OU Medicine with the clinical care provided by a medical staff of over 1,000 physicians, that includes a mix of faculty (OU Physicians) and strategically aligned employed physicians and practice groups.
Strategically Aligned: The provider platform will be designed to enable the Health System to pursue and reward contribution to strategic priorities.
Pluralistic: The provider platform model will enable the Health System to grow its community-based, faculty & non-faculty physician cohorts of employed and affiliated physicians.
Consistent: Cohorts will be clearly defined to ensure consistent compensation models, which reward providers for clinical and non-clinical productivity across the Health System’s missions.
Integrated Management: The management model of the pluralistic provider platform mitigates the organizational conflicts that may arise between academic and community-based physicians.
Coordinated: Care models, clinical pathways, quality, and patient experience standards will be coordinated across clinical cohorts to support system-wide consistency in OUM care delivery.
Efficient: The provider platform will leverage economies of scale for existing facilities, administrative/clinical operations, IT, and quality infrastructure, and will create synergies with Health System-wide digital health, AI, and other strategic initiatives.
The CPE will build a strong foundation of clinical integration and clinically lead the system's continuing emphasis on strengthening and codifying high value patient care. The CPE will be an experienced collaborative physician executive who will provide leadership for the enhancement of a culture of physician engagement, accountability and shared responsibility providing for maximum patient safety and quality of care delivered.

About HealthSearch Partners / OU Medicine
In 2017, three longtime friends from independently successful executive search companies came together to form a collaborative alliance called HealthSearch Partners. Keith Southerland of Southerland Partners, Barry Cesafsky of CES Partners, Ltd., and Ed Fry of FaithSearch Partners established the new ?rm. It was designed to serve as a platform for each principal to bring his own unique skills and experiences to a retained executive search environment while responding to the dynamic talent needs of mission-based provider healthcare organizations in the 21st Century. HealthSearch Partners is now the 5th largest retained executive search ?rm in the country.
Keith, Barry and Ed all began their careers together at the former Witt Associates, and each went on to create a successful company that embraced the core values and cultural practices learned during those formative years. Their companies excelled by delivering high-quality results for clients through engaged collaboration and a consultative approach to executive search. As a boutique executive search ?rm, our intentionally restricted client base allows us to provide a personalized approach with fewer con?i...cts, enabling our consultants to access and recruit leaders among more top national and international candidates. By linking our ?rms together, we’ve created a broader, deeper network as well as the critical mass to better serve our clients. By retaining our individual personalities and styles, we’ll also continue to be as easily accessible and engaged as ever. We’ll just have more friends at the table.
