The Diabetes Educator will perform professional consultation and educational services for persons with diabetes, and provide community health education. Develop curriculum on health and act as a health care consultant by providing information on the management of diabetes for patients of all ages from infancy to geriatrics. Collaborate with other health care team members in information exchange for planning and delivering appropriate patient care.
Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (BSN) or Clinical Dietetics
Certified Diabetes Educator Preferred
Must be licensed as a RN – Registered Nurse or RD – Registered Dietician in the State of Pennsylvania
One (1) year of experience in educating patients, specifically about diabetes.
Ability to adapt education to the individual and family needs.
Ability to stay current with trends in diabetes care and evidence around diabetes care.
Ability to collaborate with the entire health care team.
