NURSE COORDINATOR II (NURSE MANAGER) – EMERGENCY MEDICINE – STROGER HOSPITAL – CHICAGO, IL. SHIFT: NIGHTS/FLEX
The Nurse Coordinator II oversees all aspects of patient care within the designated unit, multiple units or for specific patient population on a 24 hour basis, by directing and evaluating all activities of the nursing staff. This position has first line responsibility for clinical supervision, patient care, personnel management, budgeting and quality service delivery for the assigned area.
Bachelors of Science Degree in Nursing (BSN) from a school of nursing is required . (Must provide original college / university transcript at time of interview)
Must be licensed as a Registered Professional Nurse in the State of Illinois.
Minimum of Five (5) years of Adult Emergency Nursing/Critical Care within a hospital environment.
Minimum of Three (3) years of experience in nursing supervision or experience as a Charge Nurse.
Must be certified in Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification. (Must provide proof at time of interview)
Master's degree in Nursing (MSN)
Certification in a Specialty Nursing
Certification in Trauma Nurse Core Course (TNCC)
Certification in Emergency Communications Registered Nurse (ECRN)
Certification in Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course (ENPC)
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES AND OTHER CHARACTERISTICS
Strong interpersonal skills to interact with staff, patients, hospital staff and patient families.
Demonstrates good judgment in the selection of new staff members using appropriate interview techniques.
Strong leadership and project management skills.
Demonstrates understanding of the current requirements of accrediting agencies Illinois Department of Public Health (IDPH), Joint Commission.
