Telluride Regional Medical Center is seeking a CEO/Administrator for a progressive practice located in the mountain resort community of Telluride, Colorado. The Medical Center is a unique facility licensed in Colorado as a Community Clinic/Emergency Center. The Community Clinic includes three physicians, two P.A.C’s and a Nurse Practitioner. The 24/7 Emergency Center, certified as a Level V Trauma Center is staffed with Board Certified Emergency physicians who contract with the Medical Center.
The Community Clinic specialties include Family Practice and Internal Medicine. Two orthopedic groups based in other communities hold specialty clinics at the Medical Center. The Clinic is certified as a NCQH Level 3 PCMH, and is successfully participating in the CPC+ program.
The successful candidate will oversee day-to-day operations, will be the strategic leader responsible for the practice’s financial and business development, planning, and implementation. The CEO/Administrator is expected to lead and maintain a collaborative team culture focused on excellent patient care, customer service and financial stewardship.
The Medical Center is on a four to five year journey to construct a replacement facility which will be a Critical Access Hospital and Rural Health Clinic. This will require a shifting of the organizational culture to succeed as this new type of provider.
The CEO/Administrator will report to and work closely with the Hospital District Board of Directors recommending and implementing innovative growth strategies, monitoring and improving efficient clinic operations, monitoring and improving financial performance, monitoring and responding to market challenges and opportunities, advising the group on trends as well as forecasting growth. Day-to-day activities will include collaborating with the team to provide oversight of all aspects of the practice, including, but not limited to: financial management and reporting, accounts payable, payor contracting, revenue cycle management, operations, clinical services, marketing, risk management, human resources and patient satisfaction.
Candidates must have proven experience working with multiple providers and a large and diverse internal staff as well as developing external relationships with payers, hospitals, partners, referral sources and vendors. Experience utilizing efficiency and performance improvement process and methods (Lean Six Sigma, TQM) is a plus.
A minimum of seven (7) years of executive management experience
Graduate degree in health care administration or business administration is preferred
Past medical practice CEO, COO or CFO
Experience with Electronic Health Records
Experience with and/or certification in process improvement, including Lean Six Sigma or TQM is desirable
Demonstrable/quantifiable successes in previous position(s)
