WANTED: University of Wisconsin La Crosse (UWL) Wellness Coordinator that is student centered and highly motivated to enhance and sustain a culture of wellness in mind, body, and spirit. UWL invites applicants for a Wellness Coordinator. We are seeking an individual that values diversity and who will promote a shared health and wellness vision by collaborating with campus community partners, creating innovative programs, and coordinating our campus wellness efforts. The Wellness Coordinator will be responsible for building a culture of holistic wellness, focusing on alcohol and drug management, good nutrition, exercise and healthy social activities, through evidence-based programming, strategic planning, and policy review. Using research, health education/promotion theories, and environmental management approaches, this individual will design, implement and evaluate comprehensive risk-reduction and health initiatives for the campus, ensuring measurable outcomes. By working with students, campus partners, and area health professionals, this individual will develop effective messages and strategies to improve student wellness and enhance learning. Required: Master’s degree completed by start date. At least one degree (Bachelor’s or Master’s) must be in health related field.
Preferred: Professional health promotion work experience, preferably in higher education setting. CHES/MCHES certification or CHES/MCHES-eligible. Experience with alcohol and other drug education. Experience with motivational interviewing. Energetic and dynamic public speaker and educator. Working knowledge of assessment. Strong organizational, administrative, collaborative, supervisory, and communication skills. Experience in grant writing. Creative and capable of managing multiple roles and responsibilities. Experience working with diverse populations.
This is a full time, 11 month position, which includes a State of Wisconsin benefits package. Salary will be commensurate with experience and qualifications.
