Description The University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign (illinois.edu) and the Department of Kinesiology and Community Health (kch.illinois.edu) is searching for an outstanding candidate for a nine-month, non-tenure track appointment at the rank of Teaching Assistant Professor. A strong candidate will be expected to teach a variety of undergraduate and/or graduate courses.
General Information 2017 marks the sesquicentennial anniversary of the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, a leading public Research 1 institution with an exceptional and diverse portfolio of research, and a long history of successful interdisciplinary endeavors. The University's College of Applied Health Sciences (ahs.illinois.edu) houses the Center on Health, Aging and Disability (CHAD); the Division of Disability Resources and Educational Services (DRES); and the Center for Wounded Veterans (CHEZ). The College is actively engaged in collaborative research with Carle Foundation Hospital, and the University's new engineering-based Carle Illinois College of Medicine promises further opportunities. Located within the Department of Kinesiology and Community Health is the Master of Public Health (MPH) program that has been accredited by the Council on Education for Public Health (CEPH) since 2013. Qualifications Successful candidates should have an earned doctorate in public health, community health, kinesiology, nutrition, nursing, or a related field. Desired qualifications include, but are not limited to: expertise in health behavior and promotion, health administration, and environmental health; teaching experience in higher education; knowledge of community resources; and internship coordination.
