The diagnostic medical sonography (ultrasound) department provides service to inpatient, outpatient and emergency room patients. Utilizing state of the art digital archiving and reporting technology while working collaboratively with all other healthcare team members toward the best outcomes for the patient and the organization.
All sonographers at KMC are credentialed by the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) in multiple specialties with a total of 97 years of scanning experience.
The sonographer will perform two-dimensional ultrasonic recordings of internal organs for the diagnosis of disease, study the function of the heart and assist physicians in a variety of invasive ultrasound procedures.

Education/Training: Graduate of a formal Diagnostic Medical Sonography Program or Cardiovascular Technology Program that is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) is desirable. Bachelor of Science degree in Diagnostic Medical Sonography is desirable.
Licensure/Certifications: Active certification by American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) is required. Echocardiograph certification preferred. BCLS
