Provides direct service in midwifery, case management, and collaboration with all multi-disciplinary team members in the provision of all aspects of nurse midwifery care.
In partnership with Executive Management, recommends, develops, and updates strategic long-range plans to support the Grace Health’s philosophy and goals.
Assures quality standards are monitored and in compliance with regulatory and accrediting agencies.
Participates in the development and review of clinical protocols.
Participates in in-service education to the staff of Grace Health.
Ensures continuity of care by providing nurse midwifery call coverage and attending department meetings.
Responsible for the continuing development of the CNM’s and other staff as needed
Build relationships and maintains a professional association with the hospital medical staff and administration promoting the Grace Health’s programs for women.
Works closely with the CMO and COO in the direction of all clinical services, initiating and implementing clinical policies and procedures and maintaining standards of care.
Participates in recruitment and retention of CNM’s and OB/GYN physicians.
Participates in development and implementation of the mission, vision and values of Grace Health, including the deliverance of high quality, patient focused health care.
Assigns responsibilities as appropriate.
Participates in professional development activities to keep current with trends and practices in health care administration.
Participates in quality improvement activities which may include literature review, development of standards of care/protocols, chart reviews, data analysis, and action plans relevant to all aspects of nurse midwifery care.
Participates in peer review activities.
Undertakes special projects as directed by the President/CEO, COO, or CMO.
Knowledge of organization policies, procedures, systems and objectives.
